June 9th, 2008 - 9:57 pm ICT by David M N James ( Leave a comment )Apple is announcing its most up-to-date version of its popular iPhone. The much hyped iphone 2 dubbed iphone 3G will be announced at the 2008 World Wide Developers Conference this evening. 3g will be unveiled at an event in San Francisco dubbed the wwdc (world wide developer’s conference). The event starts at 10am Pacific time which is 6pm UK time and has a keynote speech by Apple CEO Steve Jobs.
The new iPhone comes with GPS and faster internet access as well as as games, a better camera, video recording and extra third party applications. Reports about the product are indicating that Apple will allow carriers to offer larger subsidies to which might bring the price down to just £100 here in the UK. Apple has been selling the iPhone at a fixed price with no allowance for networks to reduce prices even though it would have been profitable to do so.
