American infertility clinic is offering free eggs from an US woman to Britishers

They offered the free eggs at a promotional seminar in London. Since this declaration, a fierce debate is ranging in Britain about the legalities and the ethics of the practice. Many critics are against the practice and say that this violates the spirit of the European Union law, which forbids fertile woman from receiving payment for their eggs. In an apparent effort to expand their business horizons in the UK, the Virginia-based Genetics and IVF Institute held a seminar in London, where they said that they would offer free eggs to a randomly chosen couple.
According to the European Union law, the egg donors cannot receive any kind of payment in the United Kingdom, beyond $384 (250 pounds) per month. And this payment can only be per month for travel purposes only. This is a limiting rule as it restricts the number of donors, and it is also a very troublesome task for the unfortunate infertile woman to get access to eggs in the United Kingdom and mostly all of Europe too. Infertile European couples who want eggs, generally used to travel to other countries mostly America, where it is legal to pay for eggs and sperm.
