London, Sept 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lord Martin Rees who is the queen’s astronomer said last night that there is a possibility of alien life being discovered beyond the solar system in the next forty years.

It’s imperative to note that the issue of whether the earth is solitary in the support of living organisms has been a major subject of debate among scientists, amateur star gazers and philosophers for a number of years.

Dr Martin who is also the reigning president of the royal society strongly believes that the major developments in the field of astronomy is an indication that the astrophysicists will be in a position to view pictures of planets which are considered distant in the solar system as early as the year 2025.

The idea is to discover if there is life in the various forms of the organisms. He went ahead to add that the stars essentially are orbited by a number of planets just like in the case of the sun. As such, he went ahead to say that he believes that within the next 10 or 20 years they will be able to get images of other planets which are considered similar to the earth.

According to him, that would be a purely interesting exciting subject to find out whether there is indeed the evidence of terrestrial life or not. Dr. Lord Martin Rees was speaking at a debate where that dwelt on the meaning of life for the launch of a new show by the name grand design.
