Tokyo, May 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) This is sure for the record books. A robot created history, when it became the very first robot to conduct a wedding in Tokyo. The robot is called ‘I-Fairy’ who is a 4-foot tall robot. And apparently the robot has been assigned the ‘female’ gender, because she has plastic pigtails too, along with flashing eyes.
Kokoro Company has made the ‘I-Fairy’, and they also confirmed that this is the very first time in the world, that a robot is a conductor at a wedding. The wedding was attended by 50 eager guests, who witnessed history being made. The location of the rooftop wedding was a restaurant in the Hibiya Park, in Tokyo. However even though the ceremony was officially conducted by a robot, but it was not bereft of human intervention. Because there were wires trailing from the robot’s back, which went inside to a black curtain, some distance away. And there a man was sitting who was directing the wedding. He was controlling the actions of the robot.
During the course of the wedding ceremony the robot said in a mechanical voice, “Please lift the bride’s veil,” and then the couple kissed as man and wife.
