Zardari betrayed us in the name of reconciliation: Sharif

Jhelum (Pakistan), March 9 (IANS) Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan’s former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, said Monday that he was betrayed by President Asif Ali Zardari and urged people to get ready for a revolution in the country, Geo TV reported.
Addressing a rally here, Sharif said he had shaken hands with Zardari with sincerity and greater hopes, but Zardari backstabbed him and the nation.

He said time has come for he people to come on the streets to change their destiny.

The PML-N chief added that the Pakistani people were facing a grim situation, as they have not learnt to rise up against the system.

Sharif said that his party would fight a war against the “prevailing system and high-handedness of the government”.

He said that how could the people of Pakistan support Asif Ali Zardari when his own party did not support his actions. He asked policemen present in the rally not to abide by any illegal and unconstitutional orders from the government.
