New Delhi, April 21 (IANS) Leaders of YSR Congress party Thursday met senior Election Commission officials and complained about alleged misuse of government machinery by the Congress government in Andhra Pradesh in the by-election to the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula assembly seat.

Former state minister K. Ramakrishna told media persons after meeting Election Commission officials that about 20 cabinet ministers of the Congress were camping in the two constituencies and “misusing administrative machinery” with the purpose of winning the by-polls.

He alleged the ministers were passing “unlawful directions to the government officials on election duty”.

He said that Congress candidate from Kadapa had made baseless allegations and used intemperate language against party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy who is contesting the seat.

Ramakrishna also said his party was being targeted by some media channels unfairly.

He said the Election Commission told the party that an impartial poll will be held.

Jaganmohan’s mother Vijayalaxmi is contesting the Pulivendula assembly seat. The bypolls will be held May 8.
