Youth Congress leader shot dead in Rajasthan
February 24th, 2011 - 5:58 pm ICT by IANSBikaner, Feb 24 (IANS) President of the Bikaner unit of Youth Congress Ramkishan Siyag, 35, was shot dead by four men here Thursday morning, police said.Siyag sustained three bullet injuries on his head, back and stomach and died on the spot.
“He (Siyag) was talking to some people outside a shop in Gangashahar when four men came in a Bolero car, thrashed the shop owner and started firing at Siyag,” said a senior police officer.
“At least six rounds were fired. Three bullets pierced Siyag’s body and he collapsed,” the police officer said.
Police suspect the involvement of land or liquor mafia. Barricades have been put on the exit routes of the district and the police have launched a massive manhunt to nab the culprits.
State president of the Youth Congress Pavan Godara condemned the incident and demanded that the guilty be punished.
