Ranchi, April 21 (IANS) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha and three others Thursday surrendered to a Ranchi court which granted them bail in a case related to a protest in Jharkhand in 2008.
Sinha, former state BJP president Raghubar Das and two others surrendered to the court of chief judicial magistrate, Ranchi. They were later freed on bail.
The case relates to a BJP agitation near the then chief minister Madhu Koda’s house in Ranchi. The party leaders tried to lay siege to Koda’s house while protesting against rising crime and corruption.
A first information report (FIR) was lodged against the senior BJP leaders after the protest. In connection with the FIR, a bailable warrant was issued last year and it was pending against Sinha and others.
