Washington DC, Nov 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) William “B.J.” Lawson’s bid to enter Congress this term suffered a major setback when it emerged that an ad that features what seems like Morgan Freeman’s voice turned out to be fake. The ad seemed to endorse Lawson’s candidature with call on voters to reject the long time Democratic incumbent, David Price. When the ad’s authenticity was questioned, Lawson’s campaign team confirmed that the voice belonged to Morgan Freeman.

However they had to quickly take those words back when Morgan Freeman categorically denied the ad. In fact Freeman actually did a disservice to the Lawson campaign with the words “These people are lying. I have never recorded any campaign ads for B.J. Lawson and I do not support his candidacy. And, no one who represents me ever has ever authorized the use of my name, voice or any other likeness in support of Mr. Lawson or his candidacy.”

Lawson’s campaign quickly backtracked on their claim and accused their contractor, M.E.I. Political for deceiving them. That claim did not also hold because M.E.I. Political has made it clear publicly that they informed the Lawson campaign team that they will be providing a voice double for Morgan Freeman and not that of Freeman.
