New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj said Wednesday her party wants the Lokpal bill to be passed in the winter session of parliament.
After an all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sushma Swaraj tweeted: “We want that the government must bring Lokpal bill in this session of parliament itself.”
The all-paty meet ended without reaching any consensus on three key issues - of bringing the prime minister, Group C and D government employees and the CBI under the ambit of the Lokpal.
“On contentious issues, we reiterated our stand on the lines of the dissent note submitted by our members to the standing committee,” Swaraj further tweeted.
The BJP has asked for inclusion of the prime minister, Group C government employess and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the ambit of the Lokpal.
