Voting begins in Tamil Nadu by-polls
December 19th, 2009 - 10:56 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Chennai, Dec 19 (IANS) Voting began Saturday in the by-polls to Tamil Nadu’s Vandavasi and Tiruchendur assembly seats, an official said.
Polling started at 8 a.m. and would end at 5 p.m.
The by-elections will see three-cornered contests with the DMK, the AIADMK and the DMDK fighting for the spoils.
A total of 39 contestants are in the fray — 14 in Vandavasi and 25 in Tiruchendur.
