Vice President takes ride on Metro
December 3rd, 2011 - 1:15 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS) Vice President Hamid Ansari Friday took a ride on Delhi Metro and praised it for its cleanliness, punctuality and modern technology.
Ansari who travelled from Central Secretariat to Vishwavidyalaya Metro station said: “This is a remarkable achievement. It has done great public good. Citizens of Delhi and India are proud of it.”
“I congratulate Delhi Metro and all its personnel for the excellence of their work and for their dedication. It is a model for all of us,” added Ansari who also lauded Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), E. Sreedharan and his team.
The Vice President also visited the Metro Museum at Patel Chowk Metro station.
Ansari was presented a model of the Metro train as a memento and was accompanied by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Tejendra Khanna.
