VHP denounces crackdown on Ramdev
June 5th, 2011 - 7:23 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 5 (IANS) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Sunday attacked the government for cracking down on yoga guru Baba Ramdev during his hunger strike against corruption.
Comparing the forced eviction of Ramdev from Delhi with British high-handedness during freedom movement, VHP leader Ashok Singhal voiced support to the yoga guru’s calls to check corruption and black money.
Ramdev’s arrest and externment from the capital was also a humiliation of Hindu holy men, he said.
Singhal said it was a policy of the VHP to support to any movement against corruption.
