Vajpayee ‘fine’ after medical check-up at AIIMSMay 24th, 2009 - 8:34 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, May 24 (IANS) Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sunday underwent what doctors said was “a regular check-up” at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.
“We have conducted some medical tests, including X-ray and blood tests, on him. He stayed in the hospital for two-and-a-half hours and is perfectly fine,” AIIMS medical superintendent D.K. Sharma told IANS.
Vajpayee, 84, reached the hospital at 11.10 a.m. for the check-up, Sharma said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party leader was admitted to AIIMS Feb 3 following chest infection. He was on ventilator after his condition deteriorated but his health subsequently improved. He was discharged March 1.
