Uttar Pradesh names new police chief
September 23rd, 2009 - 1:58 am ICT by IANSLucknow, Sep 23 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government Tuesday night named Karam Veer Singh as the state’s new director general of police (DGP), an official said.
Chief Minister Mayawati has ordered the removal of the current DGP Vikram Singh in view of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, a spokesman of her office said.
Karam Veer Singh was earlier in the post of special DGP Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
