Uttar Pradesh gets new chief secretary
March 29th, 2011 - 11:58 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, March 29 (IANS) Anoop Misra was Tuesday named the next chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh to succeed Atul Kumar Gupta who retires March 31.
A 1978 batch Indian Administrative Service officer, Misra is currently the state’s principal finance secretary-cum-industrial development commissioner.
Reputed as a brilliant and upright officer, he has held several prestigious appointments both in the state and the central governments. Misra also served with the World Bank in Washington on deputation.
