Nov 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Friday saw some unusual contrasts in the White House. On one hand when the arrival of the Christmas tree in a horse driven carriage had US First lady Michelle Obama and her daughters Malia and Sasha in a joyful mood, the other side had President Barack Obama in a bloody affair, when he was hit by Rey Decerega during a friendly basketball match. The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday morning at Fort McNair.
Although the White House officials maintained a strict denial in naming the person who was responsible for the injury, but the hatchet could be buried for long. Towards the end of the day, Rey Decerega, a director of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute himself issued out a statement that he was the one who was responsible for the injury. But till now he has not been seen apologizing for the act. He said that while the game was going on, and the US President was playing the defense, he had accidentally hit his elbow to the mouth of the President, which resulted in a cut on his upper lip.
The President’s lip started bleeding and he was immediately rushed to the doctor’s office at the White House Medical Unit located on the ground floor of the White House. An insider revealed that a result of the injury Barack Obama had to be treated under local anesthesia and a small filament was used to treat his cut, so that the doctors could give him a tight stitch and the President’s injury mark would almost diminish to the minimal. According to sources, Rey Decerega has admitted that not until Friday did he know that the 44th President of the United States Of America was a tough competitor and a skilled sportsman.
