Washington DC, Jan 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) US President Barack Obama has previewed his State of the Union address and he is all set to make an appeal to the US citizens to elect him as the President for the second time around despite the negatives that constantly surrounded his current Presidential term.

In order to push for a second term, the President will showcase the rosy side to the voters and is expected to talk about new measures on jobs and taxes. He is also expected to address the housing issues to lure the voters. There are also reports that he is planning to tax the wealthy Americans more, in order to boost up the US economy.

At the moment the US economy is in shambles and the jobless percentage is at a high, so Barack Obama has an uphill task on his hands.

Valerie Jarrett, who is a senior adviser to the US President Barack Obama, said, “The president this evening will outline in more detail his broad parameters for a tax climate that is fair and equitable, and he will focus specifically on the Buffett rule that he announced a while ago. He’ll go in more detail this evening about that.”

In the video preview, Obama said that, “We can go in two directions. One is towards less opportunity and less fairness. Or we can fight for where I think we need to go: building an economy that works for everyone, not just a wealthy few.”
