Washington DC, Sep 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The race to get America out of another possible economic meltdown is on.
President Barack Obama on Wednesday challenged the Republicans to support his bid to introduce business tax breaks, infrastructure building and cutting taxes of the middle class Americans. However the fact that remains is that president Obama borrowed these policies from past Republican presidents.
The policies are credited to former Presidents Ronald Regan and Obama’s predecessor George Walker Bush. And that is just what Barack Obama wants to use as a tool to get the Republicans to back his plans. President Obama dared the GOP to either back his new policies or get Americans to know what the Republicans truly are. President Obama said if Republicans fail to back his policies, then it will all come down to politics on the part of the Republicans.
President Obama urged the Republicans as a matter of urgency to pass the small business-lending bill. The bill has been stalled by the Republicans. “On issues like this one, a tax cut for small businesses supported by the Chamber of Commerce, the only reason they’re holding this up is politics, pure and simple,” according to Barack Obama.
Analysts believe that former president Bill Clinton used a similar strategy get the Republicans to approve most of his policies in 1995, when the Republicans were the majority in the Congress.
