Washington, Feb 13 (Xinhua) The US House of Representatives Friday approved the $787 billion stimulus package, an unprecedented attempt by the American government to aid the country’s economy.
The package was approved by a vote of 246- 83 but with no Republican support. The Senate is expected to follow later in the day.
Once the Senate passes the bill, it would be sent to President Barack Obama to sign it into law. Obama has set a Feb 16 deadline for the bill.
