US ambassador Powell calls on Akhilesh Yadav
August 31st, 2012 - 12:13 am ICT by IANSLucknow, Aug 30 (IANS) The US ambassador to India, Nancy J. Powell called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Thursday. The meeting, described as a courtesy call, was unscheduled.
During the meeting, the US envoy expressed her wishes to extend and consolidate bilateral ties with India, especially with Uttar Pradesh.
She said that Uttar Pradesh has an immense potential for investment and took a first-hand account of the priorities of the state government.
