Dec. 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Urban Meyer has announced that he would be stepping down from his position as the football coach of the University of Florida football team, the Florida Gators. He has cited health issues as cause for his resignation. In fact, it has been a pretty long time indeed that he had been talking about resigning from the post, but as he himself commented, nobody in the team was willing to take his word seriously. Moreover, he did not mention what exactly are the health issues that are forcing him to resign.
However, there are various incidents that may throw a light on the condition of the former coach. There are reports that claim that only earlier this year, he had suffered a heart attack. However, there are no further reports on this matter and it is considered inaccurate, particularly as a spokesperson of the University of Florida football team himself denied its authenticity. However, it had been pretty clear that the coach had not been keeping perfect health for quite some time. Shortly after the Gators lost the match to Alabama, he was admitted to the hospital with acute dehydration.
Just a few days back, Urban Meyer had announced that he had been diagnosed with an arachnoid cyst in his brain. Thankfully, the growth is not malignant, but it can hamper his work, and in turn get aggravated. The cyst is also likely to cause acute migraines and some considerable amount of dizziness, as had happened while he was coaching the team once. Other than this, he has also been diagnosed with weakened heart muscles.
