UPA will form government, asserts Congress (Lead)

Rahul Gandhi New Delhi, May 4 (IANS) The Congress Monday exuded confidence that the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led by it would come back to power in the 15th Lok Sabha elections.
“With a clean sweep in Delhi, a Congress-led UPA government is certain,” Congress spokesperson Veerappa Moily told the media here.

“The Congress will have a clean sweep in Delhi and in other states like Rajasthan, the 2008 (assembly) elections will be repeated,” Moily said. Delhi and Rajasthan go to polls Thursday.

“The Congress is set on a development agenda with inclusive growth,” he said.

Moily said: “Skill development is a big programme. As a result, unemployed youth have found jobs for themselves.”

About party general secretary Rahul Gandhi, he said: “We have a youth icon in Rahul Gandhi who has all the qualities to be at the top post but doesn’t want the post at this juncture.”
