UAE president gets humanitarian award
December 3rd, 2011 - 12:19 am ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Dec 2 (IANS/WAM) UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Friday received a humanitarian award at a ceremony held in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Khalifa received the Sheikh Rashid Award for the Humanitarian Personality (2010-2011).
The UAE president was nominated for the award by a group of Arab, Islamic and international humanitarian and charity organisations, which viewed him as a “world model worth to be emulated in terms of giving and philanthropy”.
Many eminent people have been given the award in the past 11 years for charitable work and humanitarian development.
