UAE foreign minister meets Clinton, Panetta
September 24th, 2011 - 11:14 pm ICT by IANSNew York, Sep 24 (IANS/WAM) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has met US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta in New York, officials said.
Sheikh Abdullah presided over a meeting of the Gulf countries held Friday evening.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly, discussed the importance of maintaining security in the Gulf region.
The officials also discussed regional developments, particularly the Palestinian bid to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
