Kannur, Aug 4 (IANS) Two Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers were injured when unknown assailants attacked them near a village in Kerala. The RSS was quick to blame the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) for the violence against its men. Suresh Babu, 26, and Dinesh, 25, were injured when attacked at Panoor, around 40 km from Kannur town, Sunday night, the police said.
They were returning after attending an RSS programme. The condition of one of the injured is said to be serious.
“The CPI-M is behind the attack. They were attacked while travelling on a motor bike. Dinesh suffered serious injuries on his head and neck,” RSS leader Valsan Thillankery told IANS.
Panur is near Thalassery, a hotbed of political violence between the CPI-M and the RSS.
