Two-days conference on law and order, internal security

New Delhi, Oct 28 (IANS) A two-day conference of governors, focusing on law and order and internal security, will begin here Saturday.
President Pratibha Patil will preside over the meet at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
It will be attended by 28 governors and three lieutenant governors, a statement issued here Friday said.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A.K. Antony, Home Minister P.Chidambaram, Law Minister Salman Khurshid Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia will also attend the conference.
“The focus of the deliberations will be on law and order issues having an inter-state dimension, with special focus on Left wing extremism and border security in states sharing international frontiers,” said the statement.
The role of governors will also be taken up.
