Two berths in central cabinet is our right: Shibu SorenJuly 28th, 2008 - 7:59 pm ICT by IANS
Ranchi, July 28 (IANS) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren Monday said two berths in the central cabinet were a genuine right of his party. The former union minister arrived here Monday, a week after the JMM voted to save the Congress-led coalition government at the centre.
“Two berths in the central cabinet is our genuine right,” Soren told reporters soon after he arrived in the Jharkhand capital.
The JMM chief refused to reply when he was asked about the possibility of becoming chief minister of the state.
However, according to party sources, the JMM is making all out efforts to ensure that Shibu Soren is given charge of the state.
“We saved the (United Progressive Alliance) UPA government at the centre. In Jharkhand, we are the largest partner of the coalition. Shibu Soren should be given his due,” a senior JMM leader told IANS.
JMM’s MPS voted for the UPA government after the Left parties withdrew their support reducing the Congress-led coalition government to minority.
