Hyderabad, Dec 10 (IANS) The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has welcomed the decision of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government to initiate the process of forming separate state of Telangana by moving a resolution in the state assembly.
TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao, who is on fast for 11 days demanding the separate state, will call off the fast, said party leader Vinod Kumar.
Soon after Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram made an announcement in Delhi, the TRS leaders went into a huddle.
“It is a step in right direction. We welcome it,” said Chandrasekhara Rao’s son and legislator K. Tarakarama Rao.
