‘Too early to know impact of RLD-Congress tie-up’
January 3rd, 2012 - 7:12 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 3 (IANS) Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh Tuesday said it was too early to know the impact of his party’s alliance with the Congress for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
“Election campaign has just started; the impact of this combination is not yet known,” he told reporters.
“What impact will factors like minority reservation and also Jat reservation have is also yet to be seen… you may get surprising results, all this talk is premature,” he said.
Polls will be held in Uttar Pradesh on Feb 4, 8, 11, 15, 19, 23 and 28.
Ajit Singh, a six-time member of the Lok Sabha, was sworn-in as cabinet minister Dec 19, days after he signed an electoral pact with Congress and his party joined the United Progressive Alliance (UPA).
