Former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge, who is also the director of the Department of Homeland Security lately suggested that he was officially told to shout “wolf” and raise exaggerated alarm prior to the 2004 presidential elections in regard to terrorism threat level.
“During the fall of 2004, Osama Bin Laden and an American member of al-Qaeda released videotapes that said in no uncertain terms that al-Qaeda intended to launch more attacks against Americans ….Given those facts, it would seem reasonable for senior administration officials to discuss the threat level” reads the opening line of his book which Keith Ubrahn said was only a tactic to sell his book, which is to hit stores on September 1st.
Joe Rinaldi the public representative of Ridge told sources that Ridge will avoid interviews on the matter. However Tom Ridge in his book, is reportedly naming officials like Attorney General John .D. Ashcroft and Defense Secretary Donald.H.Rumsfeld who pressurized Tom into such fraudulent agenda. Ridge would also rant about how Rumsfeld was unavailable to officials and candid about affairs in his book.
Ridge is said to have reportedly resigned from office soon afterward owing to such pressures. In the book he will also narrate how his genuine intention to open a regional Homeland Security Office in New Orleans was disregarded and overlooked by the bureaucracy.
Tom has been Governor of Pennsylvania for the term 1995-2001. It was George.W.Bush who created the Homeland Security following the September 11 ,2001 terrorist attack and called on Tom to be head of it.
