Ghaziabad, (Uttar Pradesh), April 10 (IANS) Tight security arrangements have been made for Uttar Pradesh assembly by-poll while keeping in mind that normal life is not affected, a state official said here Thursday. The by-poll is scheduled in Murad Nagar assembly constituency April 12. District Magistrate of Ghaziabad Deepak Aggarawal told reporters that national highway-24 to Lucknow and national highway-58 to Dehradun would remain open on the polling day.
He also said that five companies of paramilitary forces, three companies of Polics Armed Constabulary and 2,000 state police personnel have been deployed.
In addition to the security measures, the administration has posted 256 polling parties in five zones. About 25 magistrates and 46 static magistrates have been posted for the first time, the official said.
