Three hurt in Youth Congress, NSUI clash
September 25th, 2010 - 11:28 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Sep 25 (IANS) Three activists of the Youth Congress were injured in a clash with members of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and some vehicles were damaged at the Congress office here Saturday, police said.
“We are yet to establish the reason behind the clash. It may be related to a fight for supremacy or political rivalry. Investigations are being carried out,” police inspector R.P. Gupta told reporters here Saturday night.
“Members of the warring groups also damaged vehicles parked outside the Congress party’s office in the Mall Avenue locality,” he added.
Police said a formal complaint would soon be registered in connection with the clash and members of the NSUI, the Congress students wing, and Youth Congress would be detained for interrogation.
