September 7th, 2010 - 8:48 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bangalore, Sep 7 (IANS) An email to Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa threatening to kill him and all his ministers Aug 29 was sent from a cyber café in Malleshwarm here, police said Tuesday.
The one-line mail was sent to chief minister’s official mail address “cm@kar.nic.in” from the “companydo786@gmail.com” registered in the name of Naved. The mail ended with “Jihad, Pakistan”.
“We are going to kill the ministers in Karnataka,” the mail said.
It had a picture of the state secretariat, housing the offices of the chief minister, ministers and two houses of the state legislature. There was also a picture of a masked person carrying a rifle.
“The mail was sent from a cyber café in Malleshwaram. We are searching for the person who sent it,” Bangalore Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari told reporters here Tuesday.
Though the mail was sent Aug 29, a formal complaint was registered Sep 4 after discussions between police and officials of the chief minister’s secretariat.
“The cyber café has not kept the records of people using the internet though it is mandatory. Action is being taken against the café,” Bidari said.
