Sep 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) If debate means discussion and an attempt to prove your points and keep your thoughts in front of the listeners clear and loud then it is all these things that Arizona Governor Jan Brewer failed to do on Thursday night during her debate against state attorney general Terry Goddard and others members. The Governor stumbled embarrassingly during her opening statement then stammered and then went for a pause which media reports claim was almost 10 seconds long. not only did she stop in between her speech she also failed to provide answers to some of the questions that her opponents threw at her on issues of Arizona immigration law.
Few will disagree to the statement that Jan Brewer’s debate opening turned out to be one of the most painful opening to any political debate in the recent history. The Governor of Arizona stopped at the middle of her debate with her hands clasped in front of her, she then looked down most possibly at notes and then looked blankly at the camera with a smile, exhaled and then resumed to put her point only to utter a grammatically wrong construction that went “we have, uh, did what was right for Arizona”.
During the Thursday debate, Arizona governor Jan Brewer went on to defend her actions as the governor of the state and held that she had brought an immense change in Arizona during her term at the office. She asserted that “Arizona has been brought back from its abyss”. She maintained that the state has cut and balanced the budget and is moving forward. Jan Brewer held that she had tried to do everything that could have been possibly done.
