Uddhav Thackeray Mumbai, Jan 12 (IANS) In what is described as a ‘birthday gift’ by his partymen, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray will address two election rallies during the forthcoming Zilla Parishad and municipal corporation elections in the state.

“Bal Thackeray will be our star campaigner in the BMC and Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) elections. He will address at least one rally in each city,” party’s executive president Uddhav Thackeray said Thursday.

The 85-yea-old Thackeray’s appearance is expected to give a much-needed boost to the fortunes of the Shiv Sena-BJP-Republican Party of India alliance which took electoral shape Thursday.

It was in October last year that Thackeray, who turns 86 this month, addressed his last public meeting — the annual Shiv Sena Dassehra Rally at Shivaji Park.
