jayneCoppell, Texas, July 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Authorities investigating the case of Coppell Mayor Jayne Peters have revealed that financial problems could have been one of the reasons behind the tragic incident in which the mayor killed herself after murdering her daughter. One of the suicide notes indicate that the lady was grieving over the death of her husband Donald Peters. In the note, Jayne Peters describes her daughter as being inconsolable. She mentions that Corrine Peters has asked her why God does not let her die. She also added that though Corrine Peters had learnt to hide her feelings from her friends, the mother and daughter felt completely lost after the death of their husband and father.

The police found a total of four suicide notes and the first one was stapled on the front door warning the persons entering about the scene inside. One of the suicide note also contained instructions on how to take care of the two dogs and the four cats in the Peters household. None of the suicide notes have, however, indicated the real cause of the murder-suicide by the mayor. According to some sources, however, Jayne Peters had financial problems that started from the time her husband passed away due to cancer. He, reportedly, had no life insurance.

Another suicide note requested the reader to not arrange for a funeral and just cremate the bodies of the mother and the daughter. Jayne Peters who was a software developer was a member of the city council for many years before turning Mayor of Coppell last year. Her term would have expired in 2012. Her daughter Corrine Coppell was a 19-year-old student who recently finished High School and was going to get into the University of Texas at Austin. Her friends described her as a person who never frowned.
