Terrorism a threat world must fight together: Farooq AbdullahDecember 1st, 2008 - 5:35 pm ICT by IANS
Srinagar, Dec 1 (IANS) National Conference (NC) patron and former chief minister Farooq Abdullah Monday said terrorism is a threat to all countries and has to be fought jointly by the international community. He said he told the all-party meet, convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi Sunday evening in the wake of Mumbai terror attacks, that the scourge of terrorism could not be fought singly by any country.
“We should not try and blame a country (Pakistan) which is itself threatened by terrorism,” he told reporters after filing his nomination papers for the state assembly elections from the Hazratbal constituency in Srinagar district.
“The only way the world can prevail over terrorism is by the international community joining hands against it and fighting it together”, Farooq Abdullah said.
