Tamil Nadu MLAs to meet PM on Sri Lanka

Manmohan SinghChennai, Dec 3 (IANS) After MPs from Tamil Nadu, it will be the turn of legislators from the state to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to demand a ceasefire in Sri Lanka. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi will lead the delegation to New Delhi Thursday to persuade India to take efforts to end the fighting between the Sri Lankan military and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

Legislators belonging to the ruling DMK and its allies including the Congress will be in the delegation.

On Tuesday, a delegation of MPs from the state met the prime minister with the same agenda.
