Tamil Nadu minister Karuppasamy dead
October 22nd, 2011 - 6:49 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Oct 22 (IANS) Tamil Nadu minister C. Karuppasamy, suffering from cancer, died Saturday at a private hospital here. He was 56.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Elected in the assembly elections in May from Sankarankoil constituency in south Tirunelveli district for the fourth time in succession, Karuppasamy was initially named minister for animal husbandry.
His portfolio was shifted to sports and youth welfare after he was admitted to hospital in July.
Karuppasamy was the second AIADMK minister to die this year after N. Mariam Pitchai who was killed in a road accident in May.
