This picture could be of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford’s Argentine mistress. The mystery woman has been named as Maria Belen Chapur. She is the focal point of the great storm that is raging around the South Carolina Gov for the past few days. This photograph of Chapur has been shown at the News Bizzare, thinkfashion and various other sites taken from a social networking site and it stands to be confirmed whether it is the photograph of the right woman or not.

The 43 year old Chapur is said to be the woman with whom Mark Sanford has been having an affair since 2008. The duo had reportedly met online 8 long years ago and had maintained friendship all these years. As stated in Sanford’s statement, Chapur was at that time in a vulnerable state because she was separated from her husband. Sanford had at that time advised her to patch up with her husband. He also advised her to make the marriage work for the sake of her two sons.

It was only over the last few months, from 2008, that a romantic relationship had transpired between the two. The matter came to light when last week the Gov had suddenly disappeared from his office without telling anyone anything about his supposed whereabouts. On his return, he has disclosed that he was away with his mistress in Argentina and had not been trekking the Appalachian range, as was supposed. Chapur is said to be a divorcee and stays with her two sons in an upscale apartment in the Parlermo district in Buenos Aires. She is reported to be an executive in the company Bunge and born.
