Bhopal, Feb 21 (IANS) The Madhya Pradesh assembly’s budget session, beginning Monday, is likely to be stormy with the main opposition Congress party all set to put the government in the dock over corruption, increasing atrocities on women and tribals, and deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
“We will not spare the government on the issue of corruption and demand attaching of properties of ministers and bureaucrats against whom cases are pending with the Lokayukta,” Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Jamuna Devi told mediapersons here Sunday.

“Acute power crisis in both the rural and the urban areas and welfare of farmers will also be taken up by us during the session that is slated to have 18 sittings till March 26, the last day of the session,” Jamuna Devi said.

Criticising the government for not utilising Rs.700 crore worth central funds, Jamuna Devi said it was an example that showed how much the government was really interested in the development of the state.

“How will Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan realise the dream of a golden Madhya Pradesh when his government was not able to utilise the development funds provided by the centre, and its officials and ministers were neck-deep in corruption?” she asked.

Deputy Leader of Opposition Choudhry Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi of the Congress told IANS that his party would take on the government over the issue of corruption, particularly in the wake of Income Tax raids at the residence of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) couple who had amassed huge property and cash.
