Stalin wins from Kolathur
May 14th, 2011 - 12:24 am ICT by IANSChennai, May 13 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was Friday declared elected from Kolathur constituency.
Stalin defeated AIADMK’s Saidai Duraisamy with a margin of 2,423 votes.
Stalin secured 65,462 votes while Duraisamy got 63,039 votes.
Stalin, who earlier represented the Thousand Lights constituency, shifted to Kolathur as the party considered it was safe for him.
The DMK lost the Thousand Lights constituency to AIADMK’s P.Valarmathi.
Counting of votes in Kolathur was suspended for some time after a spat between agents of the DMK and the AIADMK.
