Stalin, Jayalalithaa and Vijayakant to campaign in by-polls
December 7th, 2009 - 1:21 am ICT by IANSChennai, Dec 6 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, opposition AIADMK general secretary J. Jayalalithaa and actor-turned-DMDK leader Vijayakant would join the campaign next week for the by-polls to two assembly seats Dec 19.
Polls will be held in Vandavasi and Tiruchendur assembly constituencies.
Stalin is expected to campaign in Tiruchendur Dec 13-14 for DMK’s Anita Radhakrishnan.
The AIADMK Sunday announced that leader of opposition Jayalalithaa will be campaigning in Tiruchendur Dec 12-13 and in Vandavasi Dec 15-16.
Vijayakant will campaign in Tiruchendur on the days when Jayalalithaa will be canvassing for her candidate.
With Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi hinting at his retirement sometime next June, it is important for DMK to win the two seats so that Stalin’s supremacy in the party is further cemented.
