Spurious drug sellers warned of strict action
March 22nd, 2010 - 7:48 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Chennai, March 22 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi Monday warned sellers of expired drugs of stringent action and asked the government officials to carry out raids across the state.
He met the officials of the departments of health, state drugs control and police and instructed them to carry out the raids.
The chief minister also asked the state drugs control department to upgrade its facilities and create public awareness.
According to Health Secretary V.K. Subburaj, the police have been asked to break any inter-state nexus to root out the problem.
The city police Sunday arrested seven people for selling repacked expired drugs.
