Raipur, June 29 (IANS) The Chhattisgarh Congress Wednesday lashed out at spiritual leader Asaram Bapu for his alleged statement against party president Sonia Gandhi at a religious function earlier this week.
The Congress sought the arrest of Bapu for his alleged controversial remark Monday that Gandhi should be asked to leave India.
State Congress president Nandkumar Patel said: “A criminal case should be slapped against the spiritual guru and he should be arrested for his remark against the Congress chief.”
Congress leader and former chief minister Ajit Jogi issued a statement against Bapu and termed his remark against Gandhi as “extremely shameful and unforgivable”.
