New Delhi, Nov 24 (IANS) To restore order in the Lok Sabha and ensure its smooth functioning, Speaker Meira Kumar Thursday admitted a Left-backed adjournment motion on price rise under rule 193 that doesn’t entail voting.
The discussion will be taken up at 2 p.m., Meira Kumar told the house, after it resumed following a morning disruption by opposition MPs.
Gurduas Dasgupta of the Communist Party of India and Basudeb Acharia of the Communist Party of India-Marxist will be the initial speakers.
Meira Kumar also said that no other matter could be raised in the Lok Sabha as the price rise debate was already listed in Thursday’s business, indicating that the government was yet to decide on Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani’s adjournment motion on the black money issue.
However, this didn’t bring peace in the house as the Lok Sabha was again adjourned within five minutes of its resumption at 12 noon due to noisy protests by opposition MPs.
