Columbia, South Carolina, June 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The victory of Alvin Greene at the United States Senate primary on Tuesday has raised serious about how a lesser known jobless candidate like the 32 year old managed to emerge victorious in the Democratic primary.
Alvin Greene’s win has come as a huge shock in the political circles with experts expressing doubts about how the unemployed military veteran could win the race without even a proper election campaign.
Despite the fact that 32 year old Alvin Greene did not plant any campaign sign nor did he hire any consultants, as many as 10,000 South Carolina residents voted in his favor which enabled him to emerge victorious against former judge Vic Rawl, who is known to have served four terms in the state legislature.
However, the shock over the unemployed former military veteran does not just end here as a leading news source has stated that Alvin Greene had been charged with felony obscenity charges during the month of November last year for allegedly showing pornography to a student of the University of South Carolina.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the rather startling revelation, it has been reported that state Democratic party leaders have urged Alvin Greene to quit from the race. Carol Fowler, the chairwoman of the party emphasized that the new piece of information about the military veteran would have played a significant role in influencing the decision of the voters who voted in his favor. However,
Alvin Greene has reportedly added that there is no question of him quitting from his position while emphasizing that his win at the U.S. Senate was the people’s mandate.
