10 December, 2007 (PRD), Deputy Prime Minister SONTHI BOONYARATGLIN has encouraged Thai voters in Singapore to elect good politicians. He further elaborated that such people do not engage in vote-buying and are loyal to the Royal Family.
The deputy prime minister addressed a gathering of Thai workers in the East Coast area of the city-state, where more than 6,600 have registered to vote in advance as expatriates. His speech was part of his campaign against vote buying.
Mr. SONTHI noted that the 20,000 Thais working in Singapore make them the largest group of Thai expatriates to register to cast votes in advance.
Mr. SONTHI urged the workers to vote for honest politicians who also pledge their loyalty to the revered and beloved institution of the Royal Family.
