Sonia to address Allahabad rally as Congress turns 125

Lucknow, Nov 24 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address a public gathering Thursday in Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad district on the occasion of 125 years of the party’s foundation, a party spokesperson said Wednesday.
“Sonia Gandhi will visit Allahabad to participate in a programme being held to commemorate 125 years of the party’s foundation. She will also address a rally,” Congress spokesperson Subodh Srivastava told reporters here.
“The Congress president would address the gathering at the K.P. Inter College in the George Town area,” he added.
It would be Gandhi’s first major programme in Uttar Pradesh after the Lok Sabha elections in 2009.
